Our Chairman and Regalia Officer

Update 21st March

Great news! Stuart himself has just called me to let me know that yesterday has was transferred to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham! He sounds in very good shape considering and has explained that he has a broken left femur, broken left arm and his left hand is pretty mangled he also has a broken eye socket and damage to his spleen (which is not too serious).

He told me that Sally is still up in Aberdeen on a high dependency ward and still requires further operations. She has broken both Femurs and also has internal injuries but he spoke with her earlier and she is feeling better as time goes by.

Update 19th March

Stuart is no longer in intensive care

Sally whilst still in intensive care is now breathing without the aid of a venilator

Original Post

Sadly on the afternoon of Wednesday 11th March 2020 our Chairman and our Regalia officer, Stuart & Sally Clarke were involved in a road traffic collision whilst on their Guzzi / ETH outfit. The incident is believed to have been a head-on collision with a red Peugeot Partner van and happened in Aberdeenshire on one of their old military roads. Both Staurt and Sally were both very seriouly injured. Stuart was thrown from the bike but Sally had to be cut free as the van ended up on top of the ETH. I am in contact with their daughter Marianne who is at their bedsides in intensive care. Sally's condition was of most concern when we spoke last.  I will update this site here as and when I receive further updates.  I have already sent an email concerning this to all HSOC members for whom the club has an email addresses on file.  I will continue to update those people via that channel in addtion to maintaining this page.

I have been overwhelmed with messages of sympathy, concern and support from throughout the sidecar community, a testiment to how well regarded Stu & Sally are. I have passed all these messages onto Marianne in the hope that they may help her and her family in these very difficult times.
